Casual S3 Buffy observations ...

... if you're looking for something deep, move along.

Just watched The Wish/Doppelgangland back-to-back, and might I say that it is obvious which one Noxon wrote and which one was penned by Joss, but I digress.  Can I say how much I would have loved to see more of skanky VampWillow, and even VampXander, and possibly even more torturing of Angel, oh well wishes and horses etc ...  Oh and Oz, I miss Oz.

It's always fun re-watching the earlier episodes and picking up Joss' little harbingers of future plotlines.  This is especially noticeable in Dopplegangland with comments such as:

Buffy:  (ruefully) I know Faith's not gonna be on the cover of Sanity Fair, but... she had it rough. Different circumstances, that could be me. (S6 anyone);

Willow:  (reaches down, haughtily) I believe these chicken feet are mine. Look, m-magic is dangerous, Anya, i-it's, it's not to be toyed with. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have someone else's homework to do. (S6 again anyone);

not to forget the all-time obvious one:

Willow:  (appalled) It's horrible! That's me as a vampire? (Angel closes the door) I'm so evil and... skanky. (aside to Buffy, worried) And I think I'm kinda gay.

As I said, nothing deep here, just casual observations.Gotta tell the truth though, as much as I enjoy S3 with the Mayor and Faith and Wesley, I really miss the presence of a certain vampire.  Think I may re-visit some S4 later today.

  • Current Mood: nostalgic nostalgic
Definitely essential, but I'm slowly coming to the realisation that it's SPIKE and not JM that I find fascinating, and I'm a little sadder for that fact, because I think that it means that I'm not interested in what he does in the future, and that's another link to the Jossverse gone - slightly melancholy today, that's what I get for revisiting old episodes.
